Female Shorts Film Festival celebrates cinematic works of women in the arts. This festival is dedicated and focused to seeking out and promoting cinema created by and for women. The festival is part of the Virginia Commission for the Arts 2010 statewide celebration, Minds Wide Open, which celebrates women in the arts.

Female Shorts Film Festival (FSFF) aims to promote and support the vibrant artistry of independent cinema from female filmmakers of all genres. The FSFF seeks films that are engaging and innovative, reflecting a distinctive vision and independent spirit. Films that feature subjects related to the arts, that illuminate the artistic process, or that emphasize the art of film are encouraged.

The Everett Women's Film Festival is a weekend festival which provides a venue for the presentation of Women's work in cinema. The 2010 festival features old and new films from international filmmakers, including Courtney Hunt, Sandra Nettlebeck, Sandi Cioffi , Havana Marking, Roberta Cantow, Alice Winocour and Jessica Oreck , as well as shorts by the students of the Reelgrrls after school media and technology training program.
